How to troubleshoot a measuring light curtain that is not working?

Update Time:2026/7/2

Follow this systematic approach: Check power LED, verify alignment, clean optics, inspect cables, test individual beams, and verify communication parameters. Most issues are resolved by cleaning or realignment.

Troubleshooting Checklist

1

Check Power

Verify the power LED on both emitter and receiver. DADISICK DK-QL units have visible status indicators. No LED = no power — check 24VDC supply and wiring.

2

Inspect Alignment

Check if the emitter and receiver are parallel and facing each other. Even 1-2 degree misalignment can cause intermittent operation.

3

Clean Optical Surfaces

Dust, oil, or debris on the emitter or receiver windows is the most common cause of reduced performance. Clean with a soft, lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol.

4

Check Cables and Connectors

Verify the M12 connector is securely fastened. Check for damaged cables, bent pins, or corrosion.

5

Test Communication

Use a PC with serial terminal software to verify RS485/RS232 communication. Check baud rate, data bits, and device address settings.

If issues persist, contact DADISICK technical support for expert assistance. Do not disassemble the unit — it contains no user-serviceable internal components.
